Margaret came in with a revision-risk question after two other consultations. What she wrote afterwards is the clearest statement of how this practice tries to work that anyone has managed, and it is better than anything we would have written about ourselves. She noted that the anatomy was drawn for her and the specific structure of concern was named, and that she was told one of the things she wanted was not reliably achievable. She booked because of the second half. That is not a technique for building trust, it is what happens when a surgeon says the true thing including the inconvenient part. Roughly a third of the surgical consults here are second or third opinions, and the pattern in the reviews is consistent: people decide on the basis of what they were told could not be done.
